Throughout his 30-year career, with 25 years of managerial experience, Ivan has been deeply involved in culture, art, media, creativity, and activism. He co-founded two associations (Trafik and Žmergo), was a member (both former and active) of three bands (Plod Mirže, Let3, Porno brak), and founded four companies (Manufaktura, Klub ljubitelja buke, Neuroradnik, Usta na usta). From 2011 to 2023, he served as the head of culture for the City of Rijeka. He spearheaded the development of the Rijeka Cultural Development Strategy 2013-2020, Rijeka’s candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2020, and establishing the Rijeka model of public-civil partnership. Additionally, he played a key role in founding two public cultural institutions (Art Cinema and HKD) and securing funding for a series of infrastructural EU projects totalling around 50 million euros. His extensive experience spans conceiving, launching, and managing programs and projects at various levels – financial, organizational, and societal – from small-scale initiatives to large-scale endeavors.
