52 Hertz Whale is a Bratislava-based band whose music is ferocious and melancholic, cracked with vigour and impatience. With two releases under their belt – the eponymous EP of 2015 and ”I’ve met a lot of people” released in 2017 – the band has toured in Slovakia, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Austria, Netherlands, Hungary, Britain, Lithuania and Czechia. It has gained a fervent underground following, thanks to their cathartic gigs, including Pohoda, Colours of Ostrava, Liverpool Sound City, MENT Ljubljana, Waves Vienna, Žižkovská noc, Grape and Sharpe festivals.
In 2022 the band played the biggest European showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag and were invited for 2023 ESNS edition as well. In August 2022, they released a well-received record ”Present Sense Impression’’’ in cooperation with two labels – Czech FM Forum and Slovakian Weltschmerzen, which ranked 3rd in the top Czech and Slovak albums of 2022 at the renowned Czech music magazine Fullmoon. Their single ‘Phil ‘was selected by DJ Kevin Cole as song of the day on KEXP radio. Currently, the band is preparing to tour in 2023 and start working on new material in 2024.
