Šimun Matišić was born in 1996 in Zagreb. He had his first performance at the age of 4 when he played drums in Branko Kralja’s quartet. He started studying percussion with professor Božidar Rebić, and later with prof. Tomi Spasevski and prof. Goran Gorše. In parallel with percussion, he studies piano with professor Sretna Meštrović, and theory at GU Elly Bašić. He graduated in percussion and music theory at GU Elly Bašić in 2014.
He graduated in percussion in 2023 in the class of professor Ivana Kuljeruć, and is currently a fifth-year student of classical composition in the class of professor Mladen Tarbuk. He completed the first two years of composition studies with professor Davorin Kempf.
