Born in 1967. in Zagreb, Croatia, Vedran Peternel has lived in Paris, France, since 1979. to 2010., exploring different aspects of sound as a form of artistic expression. As a musician, studio and live sound engineer or producer, Peternel has collaborated on many projects. He hosted and edited the music show Telegram on the French International Radio (RFI) for more than 15 years, and is the co-author and sound designer of radio-documentaries and radiophonic musical projects The Gate of Europe, Mars Over Zagreb, An ABC of the Night, Tesla and Twain and Where do you draw the line.

In 2021. Peternel initiated, recorded and produced Zagreb Calling, a compilation album that reunite 10 of the best alternative bands from Zagreb. The album was released by MenArt and received a Porin for the best compilation of the year. Peternel is working on several musical projects, including the compilation album Zvučni Zid, which reunites 15 of the best alternative bands from Croatia, each with one original recording specially made for this occasion and recorded in different clubs all around the country. The album is expected to be released on vinyl in September 2023, by MenArt.
