Veronika Vajda is a project manager at the Budapest-based music hub, Hangvető. She holds a degree in ethnomusicology, with a particular focus on the musical traditions of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the South Caucasus. Veronika has contributed to several large-scale European projects, including MOST – The Bridge for Balkan Music, and most notably, UPBEAT – The European Showcase Platform for World Music. These projects share a common mission: to support emerging artists within the world and folk music scenes. In addition to supporting emerging artists, she is committed to promoting Romani artists in Hungary and beyond. She played a key role in the development of the Roma Connection project, which celebrates and nurtures the rich heritage of Romani music across the Visegrád Four countries. She was also part of the team behind the BALKAN:MOST Showcase and Conference, held in the city of Veszprém during its 2023 tenure as European Capital of Culture.
