Ivan Grobenski is one of the most versatile and forward-thinking musicians emerging from the Southeast European music scene. His career spans from experimental rock beginnings with the band Moskau, through solo explorations of traditional Podravina folk music, to critically acclaimed genre-blending works that fuse indie, blues, soul, and most recently, hip-hop and rap. In 2021, his album Siromahi i Lazari reimagined Croatian folk traditions through a modern, raw lens. His 2023 album, Apocalipstick, brought bold sonic experimentation and earned him nominations for Croatia’s Rock&Off Awards (Album of the Year, Song of the Year), as well as a Porin Award nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. That same year, he was included on IMPALA’s YouTube 100 Artists to Watch list.
In 2024, Grobenski released Kink, a fearless departure into electronic, hip-hop, and soul territory. The single Houdini received a nomination for Best Alternative Performance at the ELECTOR Awards for electronic music. His latest release, ELECTRAW Session (2025), showcases a new chapter—stripped-down, electrified, and fiercely live. Together with his band, Grobenski performs select songs from Apocalipstick and Kink, entirely reinterpreted without loops, samples or studio polish. Originally crafted in digital form, these tracks now breathe with raw energy and organic power, captured in one take, as they sound on stage.
