Nemeček is a rock power trio composed of Vedran Živković, Leo Beslać, and Borna Maksan. With the release of the second chapter of their album trilogy Prokletije, the band continues to expand their established musical, conceptual, and production approach, weaving together influences from rock, Slavic symbolism, and krautrock. Prokletije II delivers a cold, dystopian blend of cosmic music and local psychedelic heritage, where sons of the Pannonian plain, aided by the legacy of a new era and the magic of the Slavonian tamburica, construct a Balkan wall of sound — summoning both past and future.
Designed as a continuous musical journey meant to be experienced in a single breath, the album skillfully explores various forms of harmonic expression. It aims to depict the erosion of our inner landscapes by contrasting and juxtaposing dynamic fluidity with surging distortion. The group jointly signs the authorship of all compositions, a testament to their unified creative vision and commitment to the final product. Produced by Borna Maksan, the album was recorded between 2021 and 2023 at the Rattus Rattus studio in Zagreb.
