RAKEL is an Icelandic artist working across song, field recording, and atmosphere, combining voice and environmental sound into layered compositions that balance intimacy with a sense of space. She has performed with artists such as Nanna (Of Monsters and Men), Axel Flóvent, and Kaktus Einarsson. Her 2025 debut album a place to be, co-created with Danish producer Sara Flindt, is part diary, part landscape—songs that resist structure and resolution, shaped by recordings made in different environments. The release has brought wider attention, including recognition from The Line of Best Fit and the Iceland Music Award for Performer of the Year.
