The organisers of the third edition of the SHIP Festival have announced the first 15 artists who will perform on the stunning stages along Croatia’s coast. For the first time, legendary radio host and DJ Seattle’s KEXP (USA) will visit Croatia.

Kevin Cole has had a 50-year career during which he discovered and presented hundreds of alternative music artists to the public. For the past 25 years on KEXP radio, he has featured new albums, singles, and up-and-coming artists on every episode of his show and has long been considered a benchmark for the quality of new music. Under Kevin’s leadership, KEXP evolved from a Seattle-based radio station into a globally respected nonprofit arts organisation dedicated to enriching lives by promoting music and discovering new sounds.

Before working at KEXP, Kevin spent six years at Amazon as part of the team responsible for strategy during the launch and further development of the Amazon Music store. Before that, he helped create the highly innovative Revolution Radio (REV105) station in Minneapolis, considered America’s last great commercial alternative radio station.
This year’s SHIP Festival will take place from September 11 to 14, spanning six locations in the beautiful city of Šibenik. Among others, the following artists will perform: Andrea Ljekaj (HR), Balkan Zoo & Nina Ćorić (HR), Chachy (UK), DJECA! (HR), Inspector Spacetime (IS), Ivan Grobenski (HR), Jasmine not Jafar (FR), Koikoi (RS), makrohang (HU), Nemeček (HR), ŠČAK (HR), Smag På Dig Selv (DK), TANNU TUWA (HR), Ugly (UK), and Zevin (SI).

More names will be announced in the coming months. These artists were selected from a record 1,342 applications from 57 countries across six continents, a 30% increase compared to last year.

The first names already give a glimpse to scene-followers of numerous acts soon to become big, showcasing a range of brilliant music from electronic, world music, rap, rock, pop, and ethno to jazz. We’re excited that Croatian audiences will hear innovative, intelligent, sometimes danceable, and always interesting music from around the world. As for the legendary Kevin Cole – there’s no need to say much. We don’t know a single music lover who hasn’t seen at least a few KEXP sessions,” said the organisers.
